What to expect during your first visit?

75-minute New Patient Visit

We believe that good healthcare takes time and is not to be rushed!

We’ve all experienced an “in-and-out” appointment with a medical provider. One of those 5-10 minute visits with your doctor where you saw them, but they didn’t really “see” you?

Because we operate outside of the traditional medical insurance system, we are actually able to take the time necessary to validate your concerns and actually help you solve your problem. Human health can be complicated, but it doesn’t have to be scary and feel like you are navigating it alone.

We take 75 minutes with our new patients because we want you to feel heard, fully understand how your problem has affected your life, and figure out a plan to work together to fix that problem and prevent it from happening again!

He will work with you find the movement you enjoy that will provide you with strength, flexibility, and longevity in the activities that you enjoy the most!

Health History

“We don’t know where we are going until we know where we have been.”

-Hitch

I joke, but that quote really does apply directly to your care. That is why we will review a thorough history of your current problem, other outstanding problems, previous injuries/illnesses, your family health history, and your care goals to best help you take control of your health and wellness!

Full Physical Exam

We will perform a full physical exam including: checking your blood pressure/pulse; checking basic neurological function (reflexes, senses, motor function); a functional assessment to see how your move; full-body hands on palpation to assess your structural integrity, find movement restriction, and find tension.

Treatment

We do treatment on the first visit (and can’t believe that some offices actually don’t). It consists of gentle manual therapy (massage, passive stretching, joint mobilization/manipulation), rehabilitation (stabilizing exercises, stretches, breathing), physiotherapy modalities (heat, ice, bracing, taping, electrical stimulation, ultrasound) and behavior modification (habit-stacking, work ergonomics, food choices) to help you get to the root of the problem and return to normal function.

Treatment Plan

Response to care really depends on the complexity of the problem. Some patient cases respond to care in one visit, some patient cases need multiple visits to get the desired response, and some patient cases may be beyond our abilities and require referral to other healthcare providers such as general medical doctors, physician’s assistants, nurse practitioners, orthopedists, dentists, neurologists, acupuncturists, nutritionists, etc.

Whatever your treatment requires, we will do everything in our power to help you make the best-informed decisions around your health.

What to expect during a follow up?

60-minute Follow-up visit

Yes! We spend 60-minutes with our returning patients as well because good healthcare takes time!

Your response to previous treatment dictates the next steps. Do we continue as planned? Do we need to modify and adapt with a different approach?

Depending on your custom needs, that 60 minutes will be allocated to gentle manual therapy (massage, passive stretching, joint mobilization/manipulation), rehabilitation (stabilizing exercises, stretches, breathing), physiotherapy modalities (heat, ice, bracing, taping, electrical stimulation, ultrasound) and behavior modification (habit-stacking, work ergonomics, food choices)
